OHS Winter Guard has completed their first season in existence with a phenomenal list of accomplishments. Not only did this group have to figure out how to prepare for an unfamiliar competition schedule but also had to prepare some members who had never tossed a flag before. This group rose to the challenge and burst through those barriers. They placed first in their class at their first 3 competitions and placed second in their class at the Midwest Colorguard Circuit finals (behind first place by .06 points!) and came in third to the Grand Champion by .7 points! This is amazing given they were up against schools who have been doing this sport for years.
OHS also had 2 members receive special recognition; Eliza Taylor-Berry awarded the McCormick Scholarship and Noely Ballines awarded the Commanders medallion.
This team has truly set the standard for this group in the future and has sent a message to the rest of the winter guard circuit that they are a new force to be reckoned with.
Congratulations OHS Winter Guard!!!
